Uno Más Tacos & Tequila, a Spokane staple Mexican restaurant, opened its new location in 2025 after a full rebrand from the Strategy Labs creative team. We developed a new logo, color palette, tone of voice, messaging guide, interior design plan, murals, menu design, and graphics that transport visitors to a carefree space south of the border. One year and approximately one zillion tacos later, we’re incredibly proud of the atmosphere we helped Uno Más create.
The Challenge
Uno Más wanted to go from standard taco outpost to Spokane’s good-time destination, completely remodeling an old car dealership to create a multiroom dining and drinking experience. Their team came to Strategy Labs with a blank canvas, ready for a new look and feel that would permeate every layer of the customer journey, from social posts to paint colors to drink coasters.
The Approach
We sat down with the owner to understand his goals and ideas, compiled questions and notes, then dove into research and creative exploration.
Using the info we gathered, we determined the brand’s target audiences and analyzed competitor restaurants to ensure Uno Más would appeal to the right people while being memorably unique. From there, we created a new brand positioning statement and several unique visual directions that could represent the immersive space.
The Results
So what does "a little lost" actually look like? We started with a refined logo—illustrative agave wrapped in a rustic, stamp-like treatment—plus a brand-new mark for the upstairs speakeasy, The Mezzanine. Interior renderings recreated an open-air street food vibe, mapping everything from paint colors and furniture to plant and decor placement, all wrapped in an inviting blue palette with pops of bright yellow and pink. Underneath sits a refined brand story, messaging pillars, tone of voice guide, and the tagline that ties it together: "Get a little lost at Uno Más." We carried it to every table (and bar stool) with a new menu design, three thoughtfully chosen typefaces, and hand-drawn, pen-and-ink food icons. Then we took it outside—signage, banners, menu boards, one unmissable billboard, and several hand-painted murals inside and out—so the atmosphere greets you long before the chips and salsa do.
